Kollektiv Turmstrasse is a German duo that has been active for many years and gained notable attention with "Sorry I'm late," a tech house anthem that set dancefloors worldwide on fire almost 10 years ago.
Rather discreet in recent years, except for a few relatively forgettable releases on Diynamic (Solomun's label), they are back with an upcoming album that once again marks a departure from their previous style, an exercise they particularly enjoy.
The release that interests us today, "Distant Love," is the second single from their upcoming album "Unity of Opposites." From the intro, you can feel this departure: the saturated pad, the arpeggiated melody, and the powerful one shots immediately place the track in the melodic/techno dancefloor hits of the coming months. The song quickly ramps up with vocals, judiciously tuned for a catchy effect that leaves the listener not unscathed.
