Nervous Records

Today, I feel like presenting to you three tracks from the latest releases of a label that I hold particularly dear. This concerns the New York label Nervous Records, a true institution in the house scene for a few decades. Quite recently, I had the pleasure of discovering a little gem from this American label at one of my favorite record stores, Doctor Vinyl in Brussels. Moreover, we had the pleasure of interviewing Geert, the record store owner himself, via the following link: interview Doctor Vinyl

Kyle Kinch and Reign bring us a distinctly groovy track with tribal influences. While the percussion sets the background for the track, string instruments add to the 'in your house' vocals to create a well-paced and danceable whole. Definitely a track that smoothly fits on both small and large dance floors!

Body Action naturally emerges as a track that invites movement along with its deep house vocals and instruments. It makes you want to sway like a snake maneuvering through bouncing basslines. Suddenly immersed in a festive atmosphere where multiple voices intertwine, the sound takes control, as if to lift us above the crowd. Personally, I sense hints here and there of the influence of Smoke City - Underwater Love, with the enchanting female vocals typical of this mythical trip-hop track.

Aguardiente, or schnaps, I believe we can immediately feel Dada and Mareels' motivation to immerse us in a festive beach environment. And the choice of style decidedly falls on tech-house, which gives this track a particularly unique rhythm. Percussion, Hispanic vocals, cheerful instruments, and a groovy bassline – all the elements needed to end the summer on a high note!
