Yep, I hope everyone is doing well!
As the last two articles I presented to you referenced a techno genre with a high tempo and more aggressive sound, I wanted to highlight another style this time!
Let's take a closer look at another of my favorite artists, much more minimalist this time, the friend Recondite!
By his real name, Lorenz Brunner is a German composer and DJ. He offers a much more ambient techno; I have always been touched by the immersive, mystical, and progressive side of his tracks. "Recondite" actually means "obscure - mystical - esoteric."
The German artist comes from a very wooded rural area, located in Lower Bavaria, where he is said to have drawn his creative genius, reflecting the serenity of his environment in his artistic work.
As usual, three tracks on the program!
1. A MUST from the artist: "Caldera"
This is the very first track by the artist that I had the chance to listen to. Released on the "Hotflush Recordings" label on September 1, 2014, on vinyl format.
It is absolutely timeless and will undoubtedly give you a very good overview of his work! I won't bother you any longer and let you dive into the soothing universe of the Bavarian. Enjoy the mass, everyone!
2. My favorite: "Milk plus"
It comes from a massive 14-track album ("The Dystopian Episodes") produced by him and for him, as it was released on his own label "Plangent Records" on April 21, 2023.
Once again, very minimalist, the track revolves around 130 bpm, with a big bass line from the start. The synth variations and long ambient layers make this track super captivating. Attention! Take the time to listen to it entirely to immerse yourself in its atmosphere. Enjoy!
3. The latest one: "Elevate"
It's a collaboration that works! Just released on the "Afterlife" label, this time he is accompanied by the Italian producer Monophase, and the track was released on November 24, 2023. Rarely accompanied by another producer, this new collaboration is still a great success. We can only applaud the work done by the two producers.
Monophase's intervention makes the track more dynamic and lively than the two tracks presented above. We'll find some synths a bit in the style of Stephan Bodzin that come to spatialize this little gem. Check it out here:
See you soon to shine a spotlight on another talented producer, folks!
