After many years, 3SRecordings returns with a vinyl release: Renaissance EP. Bringing together four emblematic figures of the hardtechno/Schranz scene — SlugoS, Scott Kemix, Leo Laker, and Brune — this new physical release redefines the foundations of the label with a raw and radical vision of the genre.
Each side of the record is a statement of power: sharp kicks, abrasive textures, relentless energy. Four tracks, four approaches, a single intensity that reaffirms the identity of 3SR: hard, authentic, uncompromising.
SlugoS sets things off with Vocational Butcher, plunging us straight into the heart of the matter. A punchy bassline scattered with hypnotic sounds is driven by a deep tone resonating in the distance. After a dynamic and effective intro, new Detroit-tinged elements enter to give the track massive, rolling energy.
With Feel The Beat, Scott Kemix shapes the track’s intro in true DJ-mix fashion and carries that structure throughout. This second track of the EP is infused with finely crafted vocal elements that provide a slightly android dimension to the piece. It’s undeniably a peak-time track designed to set the crowd on fire.
As its name suggests, Repercussions merges into beats that collide and reverberate. Once it begins, it’s impossible to escape the carefully sculpted pads. The work on the different rhythmic layers allows the listener to slide from one level to another, as if the rhythm suddenly shifts before snapping back into place.
Brune concludes this explosive EP with Shutdown System, a resolutely pounding track whose omnipresent bass and acidic, metallic textures will delight hardtechno fans.
Mastering, distribution & pre-order
The mastering of the EP is the work of Daniel Tébar, founder of Sculpted Audio who offers his services in mixing and mastering, putting his skills and experience at the service of other artists.
To top it all off, the Madrid-based label Melting Pot Records is exclusively handling the EP’s distribution.
The EP is set for release on November 28 and is now available for pre-order on Bandcamp, Sam Le Disquaire, and Melting Pot Records.
