Sessions 018 - Alice

The bio

Passionate about music in general and a fan of dance floors, a few years ago Alice decided to take the plunge and go to the other side to make people dance.

Resident for 6 years on Radio Meuh where she broadcast her mixes regularly, it is there that she created "Les Sessions du Bastidon

She likes to play Nu Disco, House & Deep House with small, rounded sounds and good, often joyful bass lines. Its motto “Happy Music for Happy People”

We let you enjoy this superb mix combining house, nudisco and deephouse, a real musical gem that will not leave you indifferent!

And a little extra, we advise you to read the interview while listening to the mix. The interview is just below.

The interview

Could you tell us a little about your musical journey and what brought you to where you are today?

Music has always had an important place in my life, my parents listened to a lot of it, they had musician friends so I have many memories of being taken to their musical evenings, with various influences, Jazz, Flamenco, music African...As a teenager, it was reggae, funk and soul that accompanied me, until I discovered electronic music and then it was love at first sight, more particularly with House..Dancing on it for hours in a club or in the evening, what fun! The beat, the groovy bass lines, the vocals, the samples, all that made me vibrate :)

Then I was the DJ's groupie for a long time haha, and then one day I moved to the other side, it gradually happened with just a computer, then Traktor, then CDJs...and managed to make the people dance. people it's a huge love.

I do this as a dilettante because my life is busy otherwise, but I love searching for and discovering new pieces, it takes time! I love it when I find a song that’s going to shake up the Dancefloor, I feel it straight away and I can’t wait to play it on some big music!

I have passionate friends with whom we share songs and it saves time, even if you saw, to release the mix for Sessions Sonores you had to be very patient ;)

You were a resident at Radio Meuh for a few years. Could you tell us your craziest anecdote related to Radio Meuh?

So I don't really have any crazy anecdote, rather first of all a huge recognition because it is thanks to them that I was able to introduce my mixes to a wider audience during broadcasts on the radio then on my Soundcloud.

And then incredible moments of mixing during their festival Le Radio Meuh Circus Festival.

The first time was at the Télémark Café, on the slopes, magnificent weather, friends, the terrace full of people in ski gear, Laurent Garnier and DJ Oil in public, I had one of those pressures! Fortunately the local Genepi helped me relax haha and the magic happened, I have incredible memories of it!

Every session there thrilled me like never before! The Radio Meuh team is so great, they are passionate! And the atmosphere of the festival is crazy, it’s definitely something to do!

Let's come to Les Sessions Du Bastidon, your series of mixes where you play house, disco, nu-disco, deephouse, funk vinyls, in short everything that invites you to dance and enjoy yourself. Can you explain to us what is behind this name?

So this name came to me when I had to find a name for my series of mixes on Radio Meuh.

At that time, I was living in a small bastidon in Lourmarin surrounded by vineyards (this is the other name given for Cabanon en Provence, a small bastide), I was at peace because not too many neighbors so it was perfect for mixing with sound without disturbing anyone, a real little club!

And the name comes from there, from these mix sessions in my little bastidon ;)

And finally, and I think you're the only one who can translate it, what does the gentleman say at the beginning of your mixes, hey little figette, come and have a drink. And then he says techhouse, but what exactly does he say?

Ahaha so it was a musician friend, Benjamin Rippert, who made me this jingle (Radio Meuh asked me for one). He’s doing an old grandpa again, with a southern accent :) who says: «  Hé vé c’est l’heure, c’est la petit Djette là qui joue! attends faut la voir jouer, elle joue la deep, la tech house, toutes ces choses là…ah moi je me régale, attention elle passe pas n’importe quoi… » which means “Hey, it’s time, it’s little Djette there who’s playing!” wait, you have to see her play, she plays deep music, tech house, all those things...ah I'm enjoying it, be careful she doesn't play anything..."
