In astrophysics, a Nova is the explosive phenomenon born from the luminous encounter of two companion stars in the cosmos. To say that Cinéma Nova shines in Brussels’ cultural landscape would be an understatement. Emerging from what was once a squat, Nova has evolved into an independent, self-managed cinema that has thrived for over 27 years thanks to a collective of dedicated and passionate volunteers. Renowned for its alternative and experimental programming, Nova operates entirely outside commercial circuits, granting it full artistic and organizational freedom.
La Médiathèque Nouvelle La Médiathèque Nouvelle is a key Brussels institution dedicated to preserving and curating Belgium’s audiovisual heritage. It has established itself as a vital mediator of Belgian audiovisual culture, committed to fostering a critical and contextualized understanding of film, music, and video games. Through its work, the organization seeks to deepen our grasp of the challenges and complexities of contemporary audiovisual productions.
